In a bid to enhance Botswana’s gaming industry and champion responsible betting through the #MotshamekoOPhepa initiative, the Gambling Authority of Botswana officially launched BBets at the Gaborone Hotel on March 14. The inaugural ribbon-cutting ceremony was led by the Authority’s CEO, Emolemo Peter Kesitilwe, who emphasized the regulator’s commitment to job creation and the establishment of a structured gaming environment.
BBets now officially joins Botswana’s regulated betting landscape, which operates under the Betting, Lotteries, and Gaming Act of 2012. Oversighted by the Gambling Authority, the national regulatory body tasked with licensing operators and ensuring adherence to responsible gaming practices, the Authority has issued a total of 43 gambling licenses across various sectors, including casinos, sports betting, and lotteries.
