The Football Kenya Federation announced a new partnership with betPawa as the official sponsor of the 2025 FKF Women’s Cup. This is the first-ever sponsorship deal for a women’s football competition in Kenya.
The partnership includes the introduction of the Locker Room Bonus initiative, where players and team officials will receive direct financial rewards for match victories. Each winning team will receive a total of Ksh 85,800 per round, with 23 players and 3 officials earning Ksh 3,300 each, paid directly to their mobile money accounts.
This announcement comes right after betPawa launched the Locker Room Bonus program in Malawi, setting a new precedent for women’s football sponsorship across the continent. In Malawi, the initiative was introduced in partnership with the Football Association of Malawi (FAM) to support the newly established Regional Women’s Football League

FKF President Hussein Mohammed welcomed the partnership, saying, ““It’s a big step in the right direction. This marks the first time in Kenya’s football history that women’s football has secured a sponsorship deal. But this is just the beginning — we will continue seeking similar partnerships for the FKF Women Premier League (WPL) and the FKF Women National Super League (WNSL).”
Head of CSR and Sports Development at betPawa, Raquel Puig, said,” This is a very important milestone for our Locker Room Bonus initiative, and the first time we are launching it in Kenya. It’s the first step in what we hope will be a long-standing relationship with FKF. Women’s football is on the rise, and we’re proud to be part of that growth.”
The partnership highlights FKF’s continued commitment to supporting and growing women’s football across all levels.
